Exam mode is designed for a computer with a mouse, as at SENASA: the keys have their real size and are small for a finger.
How training works
Each set is 10 exercises with random data from the ones you type most in the exam: crosswind and headwind, WCA, flight time, the 1 in 60 rule, fuel, pressure and density altitude, climb gradient, conversions and centre of gravity with the memory.
You type the operation on the calculator, which is the same one as on the home page and behaves like the exam one, bugs included. It checks itself as soon as the result appears: you do not have to write the answer anywhere.
It measures time, number of keys and attempts. If the result is wrong it tries to tell you why: a forgotten conversion, a flipped sign or one of the real calculator's quirks. Two exercises have a trap on purpose.
«Show the solution» types the sequence in front of you, but that exercise no longer counts as a pass. Your best set is stored on this device only.
The data is made up and the factors are the usual ones (27 ft/hPa, 120 ft/°C, 101.3, 3.785…): in the exam always use those your question gives you.
